COMMON QUESTIONS

What technology do you use in your practice?

Ever since I was an undergraduate college student, I have believed that advances in neuroscience and technology would someday influence the direction of psychology and open up new vistas for change that had not been considered before. While tracking these developing innovations over the past 30 years, I have acquired technology that is truly 21st century. I now offer them to the public for use in my practice, including some that can be used at home as a rental or for purchase.

Psychoacoustics:   The Listening Program

Vibroacoustics:   Symmetron Motion Chair

In addition, on occasion, I recommend nutritional supplements for brain support. Currently I use products from Metagenics and NeuroResearch.

Essentially, I have discovered ways of improving a person’s mental functioning without having to rely exclusively on talk therapy. While talk therapy has its value and has proven its worth over thousands of studies, not everyone wants talk therapy and some, for whatever reason, simply don’t respond to this widely used approach. Although I didn’t start out trying to find ways to achieve results without psychotherapy, over time it became apparent that using these technologies, in the right combination, achieved equal, if not superior results. In fact, the results often surpass those of psychotropic medications.
